The Surprise Christmas Doll

One evening when I was about 10 years old, I got up to get a drink from the kitchen. As I approached the dining room I realized that my mother was still up. This was just a few days before Christmas. I was just about to walk in the room when I saw in the reflection of the china cabinet, my mother holding a beautiful doll. She was getting ready to put it in a box. I just knew it was for me. I turned around and went back to bed so I would not spoil the surprise.

On Christmas morning, I searched out that gift. I was so excited. However when I opened it, there was a different doll. Nothing like the one I saw. I was completely confused. The doll had been my mother’s when she was small. It was a very special doll for it had two heads. If you flipped the dress over it was now the doll that I had seen. It is still a treasure gift.

That’s the most amazing story! I have never seen such dolls.
Merry Christmas to you, and a happy, peaceful New Year!
